The Teltron Thomson Tube S is used to investigate electron beams in electric and magnetic fields.

An integrated plate capacitor allows the electron beam to be deflected electrostatically and use of Helmholtz coils allows the electron beam to be deflected magnetically. The path taken by the electron beam is rendered visible on a fluorescent screen with a scale inclined by 10 ° with respect to the beam axis.
